20+ Non-Food Halloween Treats Kids Will Love
Safer and Healthier Options than Candy
Trick-or-treating on Halloween night is an activity most kids dream about. All the candy you can collect, sorting and trading with your friends/siblings, eating as much as your parents will let you before crashing into bed with a smile on your face. But for some kids, one tiny piece of the wrong candy could be a nightmare.
According to FARE (Food Allergy and Research Education) 5.6 million children under age 18 have food allergies. That's 1 in 13 children. FARE created the Teal Pumpkin Project® as a national campaign in 2014 for those 1 in 13 children.
It is a simple idea. Provide non-food treats for your Halloween guests, making Halloween safer and more inclusive for all trick-or-treaters. Placing a teal pumpkin on your doorstep indicates that you have non-food treats available.
PRO TIP: Add your home to the Teal Pumpkin Project map to indicate that you have non-food treats available on Halloween.
