VITA Volunteer Training Sessions
The training for Advance or Basic tax certification will be 8 hour sessions and at the end getting volunteers started in the tax certification test.
The Basic test is recommended for new volunteers, however if you have tax experience you are more than welcome to attend the Advance training sessions.
Please remember to complete the VSOC (Volunteer Standards of Conduct) and the Intake/Quality Review certifications before you attend training. In order to access the tax certification tests, these two certifications have to be completed.
The Trainer Assistant sessions will have a trainer in attendance. For two hours you will discuss tax topics and have examples to help complete the tax certification test.
If you have questions about specific tax topics, please ask the Trainer during the sessions.
