The PTA 100% funds all Alive! Programs (Science, Garden, Art and Music) and the coordinators that keep them going.

This will be the first year that all positions will be in place and paid for the entire year. Paid coordinator positions have been essential to developing a sustainable model. Volunteers are always needed to make everything happen, but if a program is fully dependent on volunteers, it can often disappear if a critical volunteer leaves. The paid model has allowed us to continue these programs even with turnover.

• Science Alive! provides NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) integrated science curriculum and experiments for the teachers. It provides supplies to do experiments and assistance to pre-stage to make them easy to do! It offers support to the teachers to integrate science and it works in conjunction with garden.
• Garden Alive! coordinates garden docents in each classroom on garden activities. Provides garden lesson support, prepares supplies for docents, and integrates closely with Science. Maintains the garden and the chickens.
• Music Alive! teaches music in all classrooms. Introduces and guides all students to learn songs and rhythm and music. Performances are done twice a year.
• Art Alive! coordinates art docents in each classroom on art activities. Provides art lesson ideas, prepares supplies for docents.
