Heart and Home Volunteers 2025-26

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Heart and Home women's winter overnight shelter in Palo Alto! Signups for our November shelter session are now open - scroll down this page! Heart and Home women's shelter moves to a new location every month; this winter we will be located at five host sites: 

• November - University Lutheran Church on Stanford Avenue

• December -  Covenant Presbyterian Church on E. Meadow Drive

• January - First Congregational Church on Louis Road

• February - First Presbyterian Church on Cowper Street

• March - Unitarian Universalist Church on E. Charleston Road 

We welcome volunteers from teens to elders who can bring dinner, assist with nightly shelter operations, deliver healthy-ish muffins or assist with laundry. 

We will open additional signups for each shelter location about 1 month before we move to a new site. You can also visit our web site to donate supplies or support the work of our shelter.

During winter 2025-26, we are operating within the County of Santa Clara's public health guideline, wearing masks in a congregate shelter setting. We recommend that on-site volunteers have up-to-date COVID boosters if possible.
