Austin-Based Consumer App Re-Brands from VolunteerSpot to SignUp.com
VolunteerSpot Embraces Growth, Looks to the Future and Serves More Audiences
Austin, TX, July 12, 2016— After years of steadily and organically growing their customer base to almost 10 million users, VolunteerSpot, the leading provider of free, digital solutions for group and activity coordination, prepares to take their business to a new level by re-branding with a new name: SignUp.com.
CEO Karen Bantuveris commented, "We believe that great things happen when people get together—so it’s our mission to help people do just that. We want to help people become more efficient at work, at home, and with friends and family—so they can focus on the things in life that matter most to them. Our new identity is the first step to improving how we serve the needs of busy people."
Bantuveris went on to explain that the new name and simple URL will support the company’s growth plan in three ways:
- Building a brand identity that reflects the many ways existing customers use SignUp.com at school, in social activities and in their faith groups to plan potlucks, meal circles, and prayer circles.
- Leveraging a name and URL that offer a clear and easy ask for political groups organizing get-out-the vote activities and small businesses registering customers for special events, conferences and classes.
- Tailoring their solutions to address the unique needs of school districts scheduling parent- teacher conferences and university staff scheduling office hours and exam proctors.
VolunteerSpot—now SignUp.com—was founded in Austin, Texas in 2009. Their solutions were immediately embraced by teachers and ‘make it happen moms’ across the country—a passionate, influential audience of K-12 mothers who hold great influence over local and social networks. Today, millions of people across the U.S. and around the world use SignUp.com to coordinate any and all groups of people that share a common interest: social circles, businesses, teams, organizations, faith communities, nonprofits, classrooms and more.
SignUp.com expects to continue to grow rapidly—and Bantuveris contends, "We’re ready for it."
