Edgemere Farm Volunteer Opportunities

Edgemere Farm is a volunteer-run half-acre urban farm in Far Rockaway, NY. It's a lush and productive space where a wide variety of fresh and organically-grown vegetables, flowers, and herbs are cultivated. Chickens, bees, and many varieties of pollinators call the farm home as well.

Our volunteer season runs from March 29 - November 16 and we invite folks to join us in a variety of gardening tasks, from preparing the soil and site maintenance to harvesting produce and seed saving. 

During growing season, volunteers joining us for a minimum of 2 hours receive a bag of fresh produce in exchange for their labor. 

We welcome all ages and ask that children under 16 years are supervised by an adult. 

Please come dressed appropriately for outdoor weather, wear comfortable clothes & shoes, bring snacks & water, and bring your own gloves, if you can. 

*Participation in a community farm/garden involves activities that pose risks of serious injury. These risks include, but are not limited to, engaging in strenuous activities, constructing raised garden beds, removing snow, using (or being in the presence of others using) garden equipment, and walking on uneven walkways. Your participation in this community farm indicates that you understand and assume these risks.
