WestJet Mainline Picketing Scheduling
Before You Sign Up
- Each member may register for one (1) base or domicile picket location per day. Please select the location where you intend to complete your strike duties for that day.
- Picket schedules open at 08:00 MT each day for the following day only. This applies across all bases and domiciles. Members cannot register multiple days in advance.
- After registering for a shift, you may modify or cancel your registration through SignUp.com if your availability changes.
- If a shift is full, you may add yourself to the waitlist and receive notification if a space becomes available.
- If you would prefer to attend a different shift time, you may submit a swap request through SignUp.com.
- Members requiring accommodations should complete the Picket Line Accommodation Request form available at wjcomponent.ca/picketing before registering for picket duties.
- Review all picketing information, including locations, dress code, Airport Authority requirements, guidelines, and updates at wjcomponent.ca/picketing.
- The public may join and no registration is required.
- Arrive 15 minutes early and check in at the designated meeting location.
- To remain eligible for strike pay, complete your assigned duties and ensure you check in and check out for your shift.
- Follow all instructions from Strike Leadership and your Picket Captain.
- Dress appropriately for weather conditions and review the Picket Line Dress Code before attending.
- Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and any personal items you may require during your shift.
- Use transit, carpooling, or other transportation options where practical and avoid company-paid parking.
