The Dignity Diner

Since 1992, the Dignity Diner has followed a mission “of serving Chicago’s hungry and homeless a restaurant style meal with dignity and respect”.  We serve hot nutritious meals every Tuesday @ 6 pm. The diner responded to the unmet need for food insecurity in 1992 by opening its doors to the community and still to this present day 1 in 6 people in cook county are deprived of food. The dignity diner wants to continue to make sure all individuals have a right to a nutritious meal but we NEED your help!

We are located at:

Holy Covenant United Methodist Church @ 925 Diversey Chicago IL right off the Brown line Diversy El Stop. If you drive we can provide a parking sticker.

Volunteers are critical to the Diner’s Success. We need YOU! With your help less individuals are going to bed hungry. There are many ways you can help. The dignity diner serves dinner to anyone in need every Tuesday. Our diner relies upon volunteers to plate, serve, and clean tables in our restaurant-style serve. We welcome both individual volunteers and small groups.

Please contact Hannah Whitehurst Hackley at dignity.diner@holycovenantumc.org if you have any questions.
