Volunteer at Rockbridge CAN Dinners
Rockbridge CAN is a partnership between Rockbridge Area Transportation System (RATS) and Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital. We offer free community dinners on three Wednesdays a month, in six locations around Rockbridge County. We aim to reduce isolation and food insecurity, increase community and access to resources, and assess residents' needs. RATS offers free rides from a resident's home to dinner and back for anyone who would like to attend, reducing a major barrier in rural areas, a lack of transportation. Dinners are catered by professional caterers and everyone is always welcome!
Volunteers may also utilize free transportation from the city of Lexington to the dinner locations. Please email the program coordinator, Stephanie, at prog.rats@rockbridge.net if you have questions or would like a ride to the venue.
