2025 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon

Volunteer Opportunities for the 2025 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon Race Series: January 25-29, 2025

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon race series. 2025 is the 40th running of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon! The race series relies on over 400 volunteers, with year round volunteer opportunities as well as  critical opportunities during race week. Volunteers ensure every race detail smoothly and safely. 

Volunteers are people who love dogs, love being outside in the winter in all temperatures, and sometimes at all hours, and are excited to help with this incredible community event, spanning three counties and over 300 miles. The Beargrease is always looking for new board members, as well as volunteers who can help with year round organizational needs including data entry, marketing/social media, community partnership development and special events. Thank you for volunteering to be part of this incredible event--volunteers are the backbone of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon race series. We could not do it without you!

VOLUNTEER RULES

1. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to register.  Younger volunteers may be accepted for limited positions with parental permission. 

2. Those participating as dog handlers must be 18 years of age and in good physical condition.

3. No drinking of intoxicating beverages or use of mood altering drugs is allowed while volunteering.  

4. Volunteers participation is critical - if you are unable to make your assignment notify your coordinator immediately

 5 Volunteers much agree to the terms set forth in the Volunteer Release Agreement and Code of Conduct.
