Suggested Messaging for Your Appreciation Notes

A handwritten thank you note is an easy tribute that packs a lot of punch. Send it in the mail, hand deliver, or pair it with a small gift like candy, a succulent or flowers, or even something home-baked! Here are some examples to get you started.

  • “Volunteering is all about giving – your generosity is amazing. We are so lucky to have you on our team. Endless thanks to you for your support of [organization name or project].”

  • “What once felt impossible became possible – thanks to you! A huge ‘thank you’ from me [and the children, seniors, women, men, pets, etc.] for making it happen!”

  • “Talk about making magic – I have never seen so many smiles as I did today! Thank YOU!!”

  • “Not only do you have a huge heart but super savvy project management skills as well! Thank you for the tremendous amount of work and time you’ve put into [our organization]. Volunteers like you deserve all the praise in the world, and chocolate!” (Pair this note with chocolate treats)

  • “It has been an incredible experience working with you side-by-side. You truly are an exceptional volunteer. I hope to be inspired by you and your energy in future  projects too – thank you for all you do.”

  • “Hey dreammaker – thank you for stepping up and starting to make a change here at [organization name]. Dreams do come true thanks to you!”
