SignUp Supports Social Distancing During Campus Reopening
With campuses everywhere planning for a different kind of reopening this Fall, social distancing and student and staff safety are top-of-mind. We’re privileged and prepared to be a part of your flexible solutions – here are some new ways school leaders at colleges and universities are using SignUp’s platform to make things happen!
Pre-Semester Campus Visits & Materials Pickup
Before the start of school, many students plan campus visits to get a feel for the layout of the campus and to locate their classrooms for the upcoming semester. Pre-semester visits are also common for picking up supplies, books and computers – and will be needed to pick up distance learning packets for those learning at home. With SignUp, students can schedule a day and time to visit campus and can rest assured that occupancy will be limited and social distancing will be possible during their visit.
Dorm Move-In
To assist with social distancing needs, many campuses are managing the number of students moving into their dorms at the same time by setting up SignUps to coordinate move-in appointments.
Classroom Occupancy Management
To give all students an opportunity to learn on campus and achieve social distancing requirements, many schools are asking students to choose a certain number of classes per week to attend in person (and learn remotely during the other days). SignUp makes it easy to set up room reservations with a maximum number of students allowed per session. Whether it is in an official classroom, the on-campus welding shop, an art studio or the school gym, occupancy management is simple with SignUp.
Health Screening Volunteers
Office Hours and Tutoring
With some (or all) students distance-learning and likely disruptions in the school year schedule, sharing faculty availability at set times for office hours and tutoring will bring welcome support to students learning new material. Athletic Practice Shifts
Coaches are directing their athletes to SignUp to select time slots for football practice, tennis court reservations, swim practice, etc. in order to allow for social distancing needs.
Meal Shifts
To limit the number of staff and students in the dining hall at the same time, universities are using SignUp to coordinate meal pickups.
